You don't need a degree in writing to become a writer.

How many times have we heard/read that? The thing is, it is actually true.  To a certain extent. Remember that animated movie where there's a rat who wants to become a chef? Gusteau said anyone can cook. Hell, Remy did it well, and he's a frigging rodent. Also notable in that film is Gusteau's son, Linguini, who is totally inept in cooking.

You see, the point is, people tend to read the word "anyone" as if it is "everyone." Keyword=any. This means that any person can be astoundingly good at something.
